Today we spoke about Verizon overcharging problems that mean a total loss of 1.3 million dollar as compensation paid. Also, in the past we stated some things about the amount of 90 million dollars which T-Mobile might have to pay for the same reasons and, also, Sprint had some problems because of this. AT&T’s name didn’t yet appear on our site in this kind of scandals, but I guess in this industry is impossible for financial misunderstanding not to appear. So, here you go, AT&T in the middle of quite a dispute.

72.5 million contract

All started with an audit of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission which revealed some problems with some contract that the state agency signed with some companies. This time is, of course, the case of AT&T Global Services, because otherwise the article wouldn’t have any sense here! And the sum from the papers is quite huge for the situation, considering that the contract has a 72.5 million dollar value for six years.

How much for telephone services?

The problem appeared because the papers don’t explain very clear how much money was AT&T paid to provide telephone service to HHSC. All comes after another strange contract canceled between HHSC and other private company which was delivering other type of services but looked like having some irregularities. This is why, Texas State Auditor John Keel's office uncovered unreported conflicts of interest and poor management that led to cost overruns, according to a report by the Texas Tribune.
