Prepaid users might receive some bad news these days. In fact, those who are using older smartphones… We all know that this type of customers change much rarely their devices than do ones which have postpaid plans. Normally, they have older smartphones and now they might get some security problems because Google consider making some changes.

Two thirds may be affected

More than a billion smartphones from around the world are using the Android operating system and Google makes frequent updates to all versions because of security measures. Or they have done this until now, because information from the press state that their policy will change. What does this mean? It looks like Google doesn’t want to upgrade anymore versions which are older than KitKat 4.4, decision which might be risky considering that two thirds of total smartphone users which have Android on their device use older versions like JellyBean (4.0-4.3) or even older.

Conflict with the customers?

Google consider them too old and it looks like they suggest their customers to go for the newer operating system, but this might mean they have to buy a new better smartphone and for those which are using prepaid plans it can represent quite of a problem. This is why, Google’s decision might be risky and the situation of its operating systems’ customers also be problematic as they will have many concerns regarding their online security while using older not updated Android OS in days in which security measures must be stronger and stronger.
