Microsoft smartphones are less popular than the ones powered by Android. Considering only that the percentage of such devices from all the world which use the Google brand is around 85 and the other not even 3 percent, we can find a first clue. Still, the Windows 10 generator tries to fight however it can to do something and regain a bit of the dominance. For this, Microsoft made a 70 million dollar investment in CyanogenMod, an Android ROM creator which is one of the most popular versions of Android.
CyanogenMod used by 50 million people
Still, this doesn’t look like a real threating for Google powered smartphones as only 50 million people from the planet are using today the CyanogenMod version of Android which, to be honest, is not such a big number. Still, Cyanogen used recently some quite important and big words when it comes to the link between Google and Android, saying what is their purpose: to take the operating system back from them!
Google still has control because Google Play Store
It looks very hard to reach this aim in the near future considering the percents mentioned above and, most of all, Google still makes important money thanks to CyanogenMod because of its Google Play Store. This tool must remain an important part of the operating system because without it, Android users can’t download and access as easy as they do now all kind of applications.
