Online privacy will definitely not exist anymore soon enough. Not like in present it is very present, considering facts that happen day by day. For example, when it comes about Verizon, the biggest cell phone service provider from the United States of America, some say that is using a method to track down and store all your browsing history when you access the Internet through your smartphone. This method is accessed by using “super cookies”. What does it mean?
What experts say
Well, a cybersecurity expert, Philipp Graves gives a few examples about these situations: “Any webpage you go to, they can keep a log of what type of things you're looking for, so if you're looking for shoes from a competitor's website, one of Verizon's partners who also sells shoes might start showing you their advertisements to lure you away to their piece. Verizon has continued to do it, and even if customers choose to opt out of it, they stop distributing days, but they don't actually stop the tracking system.”
The FCC is on the trace
This type of system is like a treasure for Verizon and its partners, considering that the provider has around 102 customers in the United States of America so tracking all of them helps them a lot to set things in their favor. Still, Verizon might have some problems because of this, considering that many of the people using their services found out about what happens and, of course, don’t agree with the practice. This is why the Federal Communication Commission might enter and investigate the super cookies.
