A cell phone is indispensable these days so that’s why when we lost it
we get panic, angry and so on because we can’t do anymore a lot of
things and, in some cases, we might lose a lot of important phone
numbers from our agenda. That’s why, tracking systems became more and
more important in our days and if we are lucky enough, if I can say
this, to lose our phone and it still remains turned on, than we might
have chances to recover what is important.
Every operating system
has different ways in tracking a device and today will write a bit
about iPhones. Apple’s Find My iPhone hasn’t got any problems in
detecting a phone’s physical location as long it is still working, or in
other words, it is still ‘alive’. OK, many might say ‘Definitely won’
happen to me to lose my phone!’ Let’s hope it won’t, but just in case it
is good for you to open to have the mentioned above setting turned on.
How you do that?
Quite simple: on your iOS device, go to Settings > iCloud > Find
My iPhone and after you get there, make sure that the switch next to
Find My iPhone is in the green on position. You can now track your
iOS device using an application on another iPhone or iPad, or using the
browser. Now, we’ll let you know how the application work and how you
might recover your device in due time.
Step 1: Download the Find My iPhone app on your iOS device.
Step 2: Sign in with your iCloud account, the same one you're using on the iPhone you are trying to locate.
Step
3: Now all the devices that are signed in to that iCloud account will
be listed in the application, so you can tap any device to see its
location.
If you locate it, but unfortunately conclude
that it is in wrong hands and you might have problems because of some
data stocked in the phone, you can use fast the Erase iPhone button to
delete it but this might be quite a risk if you consider that once data
is deleted you won't be able anymore to use Find my iPhone to physically
track the phone.
