Ting continues to apply strategies of attracting new customers! So, for this, the provider with one of the most recent expansion from US stated that from February 2015 will offer new services. Besides the CDMA network which works with Sprint, Ting will ensure starting to next year also GSM services. For now, they didn’t give any other details like the name of their GSM partner but speculations indicate that it will be used the network of T-Mobile which will also include roaming on GSM partners, which means that they’ll have one of the best GSM coverage maps from all the MVNO market.
GSM and CDMA on the same account
But Ting doesn’t stop here in its intentions of extending services for its clients. So, in their public statement, the board of the cell phone company revealed that the GSM and CDMA devices will coexist if wanted on the same account which means that a customer of Ting can share minutes, messages, megabytes and a single monthly bill. An idea which seems to be very brave considering that it couldn’t be found yet in the cell phone industry at such scale. In only two months, things have to be ready and until than cell phones should be selected in order to determine exactly the category which can work with both CDMA and GSM SIM cards even though for this you’ll definitely need two phone numbers.
Pay what you use at the end of the month
The company estimates that in this situation of sharing both type of SIMs are around 80 percent of recent made smartphones and FierceWireless says that Ting already has more than 80,000 accounts at this moment. For sure, you might now that Ting, despite being a little MVNO, it was topped this year in the first three MNVOs from the US. But Ting it is an atypical business model, because it can be considered more a no-contract postpaid carrier than a prepaid one. Why? Because you pay for what you use at the end of the month.
