I am sure that you are curious how many people from all around the World have now a smartphone. And a study made by eMarketer gave us certain information and numbers of such users of devices that couple of years ago look like inaccessible for many people. So, right now, on all the Planet, 1,64 billion people are using smartphones, from which more than 10 percent are coming from the United States. But the US is only the second country with such devices, because the leadership belongs to China.
Half a billion users in China
They have a strongly ensured first place with an incredible number of 519.7 million users, more than three times that US has! The third place is occupied by India, with 123.3 million users but the trends will change in the next years, as well as they did from last years. Obviously, the number of cell phone users will increase annually so it expected that in 2016 their number will jump for the first time over two billion, comparing to the 1,91 billion in 2015. It is important to state though that the following year will be the confirmation that a quarter of the humans from the Planet have at least one smartphone!
2,56 billion in 2018 in all the World?
So, in only two years (2013 - 2015), the smartphone consumers raised with almost 50 percent, considering that in the first year mentioned upper only 1.31 billion humans were using such devices. And if the trends continue like this in 2018 we shall have 2.56 billion smartphone users. By then, China is expected to overpass 700 million users which will still ensure them by far the first place in the top, followed by India, with 279.2 million users and USA with 220 million.
